You might’ve noticed Senator John Fetterman talking differently about some issues lately, but Pennsylvania gun owners shouldn’t be fooled.
Fetterman’s still the same guy who co-sponsored an “Assault Weapons” ban (S.25) as one of his very first acts in the Senate, showing where his real priorities lie when it comes to our Second Amendment rights.
And let’s not forget, this isn’t new; he’s been pushing for these kinds of bans, especially after high-profile shootings, advocating for not just stopping sales but outright ownership bans on certain firearms.
Now with his re-election three years away in a state that’s getting more conservative by the day, it looks like he’s playing politics and softening up his image, but don’t be misled.
Gun owners should continue to demand Fetterman unequivocally disavow his previous support for gun control and advance the Second Amendment in Washington instead.
He can start with cosponsoring and voting for legislation to pass Real Constitutional Carry nationwide, Senator Mike Lee’s SHUSH Act to Deregulate Suppressors, Abolish the ATF, or any of the items listed in the National Association for Gun Rights’ Program for Freedom.
Until then, don’t be fooled by his rhetoric in response to the Democrats’ defeat in the Keystone State last year.
After all, there’s no difference between former (I love saying that) Senator Bob Casey’s and Fetterman’s support for California-style gun control like the “Assault Weapons” Ban.
Fetterman’s recent changes are more about political survival than any real change of heart, so keep your eyes open.
Because make no mistake, Fetterman would be whistling a different tune as one of Harris’ top allies had Casey won reelection and had Kamala “I Own a Glock But I Want An ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban” Harris punched her ticket to the White House.
